Talks to Astronomical Societies

I often give talks to Astronomical Societies and currently offer the following 4 talks :

• Remote Controlling a Telescope
  • This is all about controlling your telescope from indoors so that you can use your webcam or CCD camera in the warm

• Wish You Were Here for Astronomers
  • A tour to sites mainly in the US, but also Ireland and Australia that are of interest to Astronomers or have association with Space. Places visited include: Kennedy Space Centre and a Shuttle Launch, Washington DC, Edwards Airforce Base, JPL, White Sands, New Mexico, Pima Air & Space, Titan Missle Silo, Birr, Sydney and Perth.

• The Armchair Messier Marathon
  • An opportunity to view all of the Messier objects from your armchair, as imaged from here in Southampton

• Observing the Lunar 100
  • This talk shows the objects in the Sky & Telescope Lunar 100 list. All were taken using a Phillips Toucam Pro webcam and processed in Registax.
