Solar Images

My Coronado Nearstar Telescope is a dedicated unit for observing solar prominences. Visually the views from the Nearstar are wonderful. I use a Televue 9mm for a full disk view and the Coronado CEMAX eyepieces.

Here we can see the Nearstar mounted on top of my LX200 using the Losmandy mounting system.

Here are some views of sunspots taken using the Meade Electronic Eyepiece and a 38a filter as viewed through the Nearstar.

Solar Prominence taken using an Olympus 2000 Digital Camera attached to the Nearstar using the Scopetronix Camera Adapter and a Televue 9mm eyepiece. Another way to capture the prominence is directly from the output of the Olympus Digital camera into the computer. Again this is using the 9mm Televue eyepiece.
